It’s a really exciting time to work for Amadeus. We’ve won a number of awards over the last year and it feels fantastic to be recognised by our industry peers. The business has just enjoyed its strongest trading year to date – alongside these great financial results, we’ve also seen our reputation grow enormously.
Amadeus has over 40 years’ experience catering for the NEC Group’s world-famous venues and is well known for its track record in event catering excellence. However, many in the industry weren’t as aware of the wide-ranging work we do outside of this. In recent years, we’ve really broken away from the perception that Amadeus is purely the ‘NEC Group caterers’ to punch our weight against the bigger, more established players in the industry.
Today, we are growing at pace. Being based in Birmingham at the National Exhibition Centre, we have strong links in the midlands and boast many long running contracts in this region. However, under our managing director Kevin Watson’s leadership, we’ve recently embarked on an ambitious growth strategy. In the last few years we’ve secured new contracts totalling over £50m, including the East of England Arena and Event Centre, Compton Verney art gallery, and our newest addition, Stratford on Avon Racecourse, run by our highly skilled events team.
Yet despite this rapid growth, the senior team work hard to make sure we don’t lose sight of what makes Amadeus so good at what it does. Our people are our ‘special ingredient’ and we heavily invest in both top-down and bottom-up training right through from apprenticeship level to trainee chefs and aspiring managers to members of the board.
